What information is collected

Information you give us

• Contact form. Your name, email address, optional company or hotel name, the topic you select, and the message you write.
• Email signup. Your first name and email address, submitted directly to our email provider.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs. Our hosting provider records ordinary web-server information such as the address of the page requested, the date and time, and the visiting IP address.
• Anti-spam records. To limit automated abuse of the contact form, a one-way, non-reversible fingerprint of the visiting IP address is stored temporarily with a count of recent submissions. It is deleted automatically.
• Analytics. If website analytics are enabled, page views and a small number of interaction events are recorded. These events never include your name, your email address, your message text or any payment information.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect or store payment card details. All payments are processed by our checkout provider, Payhip, on their own systems. We do not ask for, receive or store any financial data belonging to your hotel or employer, and no such data should be sent to us.

Cookies and similar technology

This website is built to use as little browser storage as possible. A session cookie is created only when you use the contact form, and it exists to protect that form from abuse. Dismissing the announcement bar is remembered using session storage in your own browser for the current browsing session, and nothing is sent to us.

If analytics or advertising tools are added in future, they may set their own cookies. Where consent is required, a consent notice will be shown before those tools load.

Why your information is used

• To reply to your message and provide support.
• To send the free resource you asked for and, if you subscribed, occasional emails about tools and articles.
• To keep the website secure and to prevent automated abuse.
• To understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful.

Who your information is shared with

Your information is not sold and is not shared for anyone else's marketing. It is handled by a small number of service providers who act on our behalf:

• Hosting provider. Stores the website files and the server logs.
• Checkout provider (Payhip). Processes payments and delivers files. Their own privacy policy applies to that transaction.
• Email provider. Stores subscriber names and email addresses and sends the emails you asked for.
• Analytics provider, if enabled. Receives page and event information.

Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.

How long information is kept

• Contact messages are kept in the support mailbox for as long as they are useful for support history, and are deleted when no longer needed.
• Subscriber details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for removal.
• Anti-spam records expire automatically within hours.
• Server logs are kept for the period set by the hosting provider.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the information held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain uses, or to withdraw consent. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. To make any request, email support@hotelfinancetools.com.

International transfers

Our providers may store or process information in countries other than your own. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place. This section should be reviewed by a lawyer against the requirements that apply to your customers.

Children

This website and its products are intended for working professionals. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, form input is validated and escaped, and no payment data is handled here. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be promised.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
